This is a series that I was drawn to at a subconscious level. I found myself taking images of cars covered to protect it from external wear and tear. Eventually I realised, that I was drawn to these covered cars as they reminded me of my childhood.

While growing up, I watched my parents/grandparents covering almost every appliance/gadget. From television to a mixier-grinder to a car and car seats, everything was swathed in plastic. I sometimes wondered if they would also swathe my sister and me in plastic!

On reflection, this practise of preserving and protecting seems to be symbolic of a deep human desire for permenance and control. A need for all good things to last forever….almost an irony!
